식당에서 주문하기 + 각자 계산할게요

여행을 가면 하루에 두번은 밖에서 먹게 되는데 식당에서 주문하기도 연습해야 겠죠?

예약을 하는 식당도 있겠지만 오늘은 예약하지 않아도 되는 캐주얼한 로컬 식당에 가볼게요.

보통 여행가면 그런데를 더 많이 가잖아요?

 

지나가다 로컬 맛집을 발견해서 들어갑니다.

두명 자리 있나요? 메뉴를 보고 샐러드와 연어를 주문했어요 사이드로 갈릭브레드를 추가하고 음료는 레드와인과 물을 주문했어요.

맛있게 먹고나서 담당 웨이터와 눈 맞춤 후 계산서 주세요 요청하고 자리에서 카드로 계산하고 나옵니다.

 

식당 주문은 많이 해보셨을 수 있으니 오늘은 영상부터 가볼게요~

You: We're ready. I'll start with the Caesar salad, and for the main course, I'd like the grilled salmon.

Friend: I'll have the tomato basil soup for starters and the chicken Alfredo for the main course.

Waiter: Excellent choices. How would you like your salmon cooked?

You: I prefer it medium, please.

Waiter: Got it. And for the chicken Alfredo, any specific preferences?

Friend: No, the regular preparation is fine.

Waiter: Perfect. Anything else for now?

You: Can we also get a side of garlic bread to share?

Waiter: Certainly. Anything to drink?

You: I'll have a glass of red wine, please.

Friend: I'll go with sparkling water.

Waiter: Great. I'll get that started for you. Enjoy your meal!

 

식사 후 

 

 

You: Excuse me, could we get the bill, please?

Waiter: Of course! I'll bring it right away.

[Waiter brings the bill]

Waiter: Here's the bill. Take your time.

[You review the bill]

You: Everything looks good. May we pay with a card?

Waiter: Certainly. I'll bring the card machine for you.

[Waiter brings the card machine]

Waiter: Whenever you're ready, go ahead and insert your card.

[You insert your card and follow the prompts on the machine]

Waiter: Would you like a receipt?

You: No, thank you. We're good.

Waiter: Alright. Thank you for dining with us. Have a wonderful day!

You: Thank you! You too.

 

한국은 나가면서 카운터에서 계산을 하면 되지만 유럽은 그렇지 않아요.

중국음식점 외에는 거의 담당 웨이터에게 계산서를 요청해야 하구요.

계산서를 받고 내역이 정확한지 한번 확인하고 카드로 결제한다고 다시 한번 얘기해주셔야 합니다.

물론 계산서 요청하실 때 카드로 결제할거라고 미리 말하면 카드결제기를 들고 오기도 해요.

 

계산하실 때 친구와 반반 나눠서 내거나 각자 음식값을 따로 계산하고 싶을 때는 이렇게 말하면 됩니다. 

"I'd like to pay separately, please." or "Can we have separate bills, please?" = 각자 음식 값 결제

 "We'll split the bill evenly, please." = 금액을 반반 나눠서 결제

 

생각해보면 천천히 내역을 정확히 확인하는 것이 소비자에게 더 이로운 것이 맞죠.

한국에서는 부가세나 서비스 차지를 따로 안하기 때문에 계산이 어려울게 없어서 카운터에서 할 수 있지만, 미국같은 경우는 팁 계산을 해야하기도 하고 부가세도 확인하고 내가 주문한게 맞는지 내역을 한번 확인해 주는게 서로 편한거라는 생각이 듭니다.

 

어쩔 때는 이렇게 여유로운 문화가 부럽기도 해요.
